Days of the Week in Telugu Transliteration
Learn the Telugu weekday names in transliteration from Monday through Sunday: use one standalone form when naming a day, and use a complete statement when expressing a schedule such as “tomorrow is Tuesday”. The guide also separates “tomorrow” from weekday names, so you can recognise what each Roman-letter form contributes.

Use the right level of phrase
Work through the weekday names in calendar order, from Monday to Sunday, using the Roman-letter forms in the table. Three mappings have matching dictionary entries: Monday is identified as a weekday [1], Wednesday as a weekday [2], and Friday as a weekday [3]. These references support the meanings of those individual entries; the remaining day names are presented as the learning set for this guide.
The useful distinction is between naming a day and expressing a complete time statement. A standalone weekday form gives the day name only. A complete statement combines a time reference with a weekday, as in the meaning “tomorrow is Tuesday”. Do not treat the Tuesday entry alone as that whole message. Similarly, “tomorrow” is a time word, not another weekday. When practising, first decide whether the prompt asks for a label or a complete scheduling idea, then choose the matching form.

Try it
You are arranging a family visit and need to say that tomorrow is Tuesday. Which phrase should you choose?
Choose your answer before reading on.
Check your answer:
Use expression 8 in the table above.
Choose the complete statement because the meaning includes both a time reference and a weekday. The standalone Tuesday form names only Tuesday, while this phrase expresses the entire scheduling message.
Cover the English labels and recall the weekday names from Monday through Sunday. Then test yourself with two prompts: name one day, and state what day tomorrow is. Check whether your answer needs a single label or a complete statement.
